Renda Group is proud to sponsor Sammy Smith, driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and a native of Johnston, Iowa. Experts believe that Smith, a two-time ARCA Menards Series East champion (2021-2022), is the driver to look out for as his talent and drive are undeniable.

At age 10, Smith started racing in Legend Cars, amassing 31 wins in three years of competition. In 2019, he turned his attention to Late Model racing, finding success in both Pro and Super Late Models. By 2021, Smith made his ARCA Menards Series East debut with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and returned to the platform in 2022 with Kyle Busch Motorsports, while running nine races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In 2023, Smith joined the Xfinity Series with JGR to race fulltime. 2024 sees Smith moving to JR Motorsports for his second full-time season in the Xfinity Series.

2023 « The year of nascar

In his rookie season, Smith took his prior success and turned it into a successful rookie campaign in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The talented prospect scored his first career win at Phoenix Raceway on March 11. With one win, two poles, six top-five and 15 top-10 finishes, Smith won the Rookie of the Year honors.
